Liverpool sent a private jet to bring Sadio Mane back to England after the Senegal forward and his teammates were kicked out of the ongoing 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Mane missed the crucial penalty as Senegal was knocked out of AFCON quarter-finals by Cameroon.
Immediately after the game, Liverpool made moves to bring their prized asset back to England ahead of their crunch Premier League clash with Chelsea.
Liverpool host Chelsea on Tuesday, January 31 in a must-win Premier League game.
The game comes after the Reds crashed out of two tournaments in a week; the EFL Cup and FA Cup.
Since Mane travelled for the AFCON 2017, Liverpool have won just one game, a 1-0 win away at Plymouth, in an FA Third Round replay.
They were kicked out of the EFL Cup by Southampton in the semi-final and lost 2-1 to Wolves to also crash out of the FA Cup.
