Another fresh forty two people have been confirmed to be affected by the cholera epidemic in Mubi North and South Local Councils of Adamawa state.
Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health,Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad gave the confirmation to journalists in Yola Wednesday stressing that, the initial people suspected to be affected with the disease were 134 but have now reached 176.
Muhammad said no new dead case was recorded apart from the first twelve persons reported in the two local government areas.
It will be recalled that, the Director Public Health of Adamawa Ministry of Health, Dr Bwalki Dilli had on Tuesday said that 134 people were infected with 12 dead.
Dilli said that sufficient drugs had been mobilized for the patients receiving treatment in Mubi General Hospital with the support of WHO and UNICEF.
Meanwhile, a strong government delegation is to visit Mubi on Thursday (tomorrow) to assess the situation and sympathize with the people of Mubi.
