The forward has credited the Olukoya Boys’ management for encouraging the players which has resulted to beating the Kano-based NPFL outfit on Sunday
MFM FC’s Adekunle Adegboyega says beating Kano Pillars in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League encounter at the Agege Stadium was tough.
The Olukoya Boys’ defeated the Sani Abacha Stadium outfit 1-0 in their third meeting in the Nigerian topflight, with Waheed Adebayo scoring the only goal in that encounter, and the forward claims the victory will boost their confidence ahead of their next game away from home.
“First and foremost, we really thank God for the victory here today, it is not easy beating Kano Pillars, because last season we played 1-1, but today, we thank God for the victory, and we will be going away in our next game and by God’s grace I know we will record more victories,” Adegboyega told Goal.
“We really thank our coach, the management and the general overseer for their encouragements, and I can say they are the reason we could hold on to that one goal that gave us all victory today.
“Also, the love in the team has been able to help us move the team forward more than this, because our fans are also expecting much from us.”
“Last season we struggled to remain in the Premier League, but this season, we are not going to disappoint our fans, and that is why I said that this season we believe in God to finish in the top ten on the log.”
